2007年から静岡の老舗製茶問屋マルモ森商店のブランディングをしています。クライアントの「本当のお茶の味を広く伝えたい」という想いを直営店舗「chagama」と、そこで売られる商品群に落とし込みました。
内装デザインから什器・備品・取扱い商品のセレクト、商品開発、パッケージデザインまでトータルに関らせていただきました。
「chagama」のお茶はベージュの大きな缶に入っています。産地や品種別に常時40種類以上が並んでいます。
缶を開けると50gずつ梱包された小さな透明袋がでてきます。茶葉の様子が確認できて鮮度の良いうちに飲みきれる新しいパッケージです。
プチギフトにも出来るよう、可愛らしいスリーブを合わせてデザインしました。
4個入りと2個入りでそれぞれ、お店で売ってる豆菓子とお茶をお好みで組み合わせて詰めることが出来ます。
ティーパックや茶畑で取れた蜂蜜など、お茶以外の商品パッケージも合わせてデザインしました。資材コストがかからない簡易な方法で対応しています。
ギフト商品群には緩衝材の削減と見た目の楽しさを両立させる新しい梱包材を導入しつつ、プチギフトとデザインを統一することでブランドイメージの確立を図っています。

We have been handling brand management for a long-established Japanese tea wholesaler Marumo Mori Shoten in Shizuoka since 2007. The client’s wish to “spread awareness of the true taste of Japanese tea” is reflected in the design of its directly managed shop chagama and the line of products sold there.
We were involved in the entire process, from interior design to product development and package design, as well as the selection of the furniture, fixtures and products that the store handles.
chagama’s tea is contained in a large beige canister. The shop carries at all times over 40 types of tea sorted by production area and tea variety.
Inside the canister are small transparent bags each containing 50g of tea. It’s a new type of packaging that allows the consumer to visually check the condition of the tea in order to guarantee freshness.
We also designed lovely sleeves for gift giving. Sets of two and four sleeves are available, and you can place an assortment in each sleeve of your favorite tea and bean snacks sold in the shop.
We also designed packages for products other than tea, including tea packs and honey collected from tea fields. We aimed for simple packagings that require minimal material costs.
We are striving to establish the brand image for the products that are suitable as gifts by unifying the small-gift sleeves and the overall design while introducing a new packaging material that realizes both a pleasant appearance and a reduction of cushioning material.
