I have made a picture book. But it isn’t the kind you will find on the shelves of a bookstore. It is a response to a project from a certain electronics manufacturer which asked for an investigation into A/V equipment that might exist in 3 to 5 years. In the story, an architect named Mao and a ladybug that lives in Mao’s house ask questions from various standpoints about current A/V equipment and present some new recommendations. It is a collaboration between the Keiji Ashizawa Design Office and Drill Design. For these kinds of projects, even if you make a design model very few people see it and it winds up in a warehouse, and also as a means of making styling suggestions these are projects that often become a waste of energy. However, to have made something that in future years could be of interest to people, I think the presentation had great value. The story and images in the book are very cute.
