ライターとセットで携帯灰皿もデザインしました。沢山作ったパントーンのライセンス商品の中では一番カラーチップに近いデザインです。シンプルなデザインになればなるほど生産上の制約が大きく、イメージ・質感の維持とコストのバランスをとるのが難しかった商品です。
We designed portable ashtrays to go with the lighters we had designed. Among the many Pantone products we produced under license, the ashtrays have the strongest resemblance to its iconic color chips. The simpler the design of a product, the more constraints on its production process. It took a lot of effort to find the right balance between maintaining the ideal image and feel of the product and keeping the costs down.
在设计打火机的同时，也设计了成组的携带型烟灰缸。在诸多PANTONE的授权商品当中，这款是最接近色票的设计。越是简洁的设计，在生产的条件上，反而更多限制；因此这款商品既得维持外观风格和质感，又必须管控成本，着实不易。
