We designed a sofa for Japanese who are used sitting on the floor.
 
We wanted to make a sofa that wraps around the body and gives a sense of comfort but to keep its size small was problematic. So we used transparent acrylic panel as partition to avoid giving off cramped feel.
 
While the sofa was on display at Milano Salone, an interior decorator living in Italy took a particular liking to it so we sold it to her. It turned out that she was a designer of the fashion brand “dosa” which is popular in Japan too.
We got to meet again in 2014 and she told me that it remained one of her favorite pieces of furniture and she was still using it with care. It is a sofa with a very happy memory.
