2014年新規開催のボートレース5レースの内「ヤングダービー競走」のトロフィーをデザインしました。
VictoryのVとぶっちぎりでトップを独走する1艇のボートをモチーフにし、カラーのアクリル板で水面の軌跡を表現しました。 通常デザインする際、短絡的な具象のアイコン化はしません。今回は敢えてそれを試みることで、勝利感を分かりやすく伝えることができるトロフィーが完成しました。 勝者が天に向かって突き上げた姿は、とても絵になる光景だと思います。
We have designed the trophy for “Young Derby Race”, one of the five that are being launched in 2014.
Its shape, based on the letter V for victory, represents winner’s boat that is flying ahead of the others at a race while its colored acrylic plate depicts the wake the winner’s boat leaves behind. Normally we do not resort to easy symbolization of image but with this trophy we tried going against the rule and that allowed us to create a trophy that conveys the sense of victory in the best possible way. When the trophy is held high in the air, the scene will be remembered as a symbol for victory by the audience.
在2014年全新举办的5项竞艇比赛中，我为「青年德比竞速」设计奖杯。
我以胜利的英文Victory第一个字母V，以及遥遥领先群雄的赛艇为主题，运用彩色压克力板展现赛艇奔驰在水面上的轨迹。 在进行设计时，通常不会将最单纯的具象加以图案化。然而这次我大胆尝试这种方式，完成的奖杯直截了当地展现胜利感。获胜者高举奖杯的英姿，肯定是一幅耀眼动人的光景。
