As part of local industry revitalization project in Tsubamesanjo, we teamed up with a local stainless steel fabrication company to produce stainless stationery items such as paper clips, folders, trays and cases. As the company was especially skilled in finishing edges, we managed to come up with safe and pliant prototypes using wafer-thin stainless steel.
 
Although the project was set up so that good products could be readily commercialized with a major office equipment maker on board, we could not overcome cost problems and none of the products reached the market which was unfortunate as many local companies participated in the project. This project made us reexamine how to set up local industry revitalization projects.
