床の暮らしに慣れている日本人向きのソファをデザインしました。
体全体を包み込むことができる安心感のあるソファを作りたかったのですが、サイズが大きくなってしまうことがネックでした。そこで、アクリルを使い、周りとの空間を仕切ることで圧迫感を感じさせないデザインを考えました。 ミラノサローネで発表したところ、当時イタリア在住のデコレーターの方がいたく気に入ってくれてお譲りすることになりました。後に日本でも人気のファッションブランド「dosa」のデザイナーの方だったことが判明。2014年には再会することが叶い、その際にKomoriは今でもお気に入りで大切に使ってくれていることを話してくれました。 とても嬉しかった思い出のソファです。
We designed a sofa for Japanese who are used sitting on the floor.
We wanted to make a sofa that wraps around the body and gives a sense of comfort but to keep its size small was problematic. So we used transparent acrylic panel as partition to avoid giving off cramped feel. While the sofa was on display at Milano Salone, an interior decorator living in Italy took a particular liking to it so we sold it to her. It turned out that she was a designer of the fashion brand “dosa” which is popular in Japan too. We got to meet again in 2014 and she told me that it remained one of her favorite pieces of furniture and she was still using it with care. It is a sofa with a very happy memory.
这次为习惯席地而坐的日本人，设计沙发。
我希望打造能够包覆环绕全身、赋予安心感的沙发，但是不易解决尺寸流于庞大的问题。 于是，我运用压克力，区隔人体和周围的空间，但却不会造成压迫感。 这款沙发在米兰国际家具展发表之后，当时居住意大利的一位装潢师爱不释手，所以我割爱让售。 后来我才知道他是日本人气时尚品牌「dosa」的设计师。 2014年，我们久别重逢，对方仍然非常珍惜使用komori，这是一件拥有美好回忆的沙发。 One-off | Vniyl, acrylic resin, pressure-relieving form | Design Makiko Sakai |
